Kirchweiler 360º

Although I’ve had my digital camera for a while now (since the first public meeting in Köln/Germany) I’ve only just taken the time to take a few shots turning around in a circle, to stitch together on the computer to put a nice panoramic shot together.

My Canon Digital Ixus 500 camera has a nice panoramic mode that shows you half of the last picture taken on its display, to take a near perfect shot of the next section in view. As this was the first time that I played with this function, I didn’t put much effort into taking the shots, however am pleased enough with the outcome that tomorrow I’ll take additional shots of my town :-) I used a shareware app on the Mac (DoubleTake) that I gladly registered for, that took care of the hard work of stitching the photos together.

Here is the final shot I took today (resized ofcourse) of the side of my town:

Tomorrow I’ll take one from the front of the town and hope the sun will shine like it did today. The obligatory shot of our lake will also be made later in the week :P

Update

Here is a panoramic shot of the front of the town. What was just the tip of the church in the side photo is now full in view in this shot.

Hi,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years! :P

The live shops are moving right along and will all be activated soon.

We will be going through the ms3 installation and making some changes in the documentation.

Hope to have more later! :D

Have A Great Festive Season!

Wow - I received some gifts from the community/supporters that came totally unexpected which gave me great enjoyment and a real nice surprise :-)

I’d like to specially thank Ido Schiferli from ChronoPay for their boxed gift set they sent from Holland. Receiving this definitely made my day and am real happy about it! The gift includes sweets, cocoa, wine, candles and a nice candle holder, spoons (for the cocoa), and an accompanying christmas card!

Here is a picture of it :-)

Their card is on the bottom left of the picture.

I also got two other christmas cards! One from FirstGate on the upper left side, and the other from Penton (the organizers of the Internet World Messe event we attended) shown on the right side.

Thanks Markus Fuchs (FirstGate) and Regina Reitzer (Penton) for the cards - they really made my day!

Thanks also to everyone that sent me an email greeting - these are always great to receive and thanks for sharing your thoughts! 8)

And as for our Christmas gift - we were able to provide one to our sponsors yesterday by starting the testing phase for the new release. We decided to first start this phase off with a group where the feedback can be controlled, and are working together to improve the quality to open it up to the public for a broader audience to participate in testing. More information about this will be posted after Christmas.

Thanks again to everyone and wish everyone a merry christmas, a great festive season, and a happy new year!
