Oh Mr. Sheen!
Written by Harald Ponce de Leon on June 27, 2005It’s been somewhat quiet on my side due to being extremely busy working on the support site in preparations for the 2.2 Milestone 3 release, and am looking forward to making the changes go live in the coming days.
Not much will be seen on the outside apart from some structural changes, as much of the work I have been doing has been in the backend, with cleaning the HTML output to be XHTML and CSS compliant, and in preparing the migration to the osCommerce solution which will be used to power the support site as soon as the current 2.2 milestone path has been finalized.
This year the project has gained a number of sub-sites to the osCommerce support site than any year before, and inofficially formed the term “family of support sites”. This will be strengthened when the support site updates go live this week to officially form a network of osCommerce support sites, to show that we are adapting to the growing community and to strengthen our position in the market for the future and upcoming project releases ahead.
Now that the support site is prepared for the 2.2 Milestone 3 release, I have the time ahead to personally dedicate most of my resources to the codebase in CVS to be able to feed the hungry community a finalized Milestone release and shortly thereafter, the first stable release the project has ever made.
Our internal goal was to finalize and release 2.2 Milestone 3 by the end of June. Realistically this goal will not be met, but can say that we are near of making a release and can’t wait ourselves for this to happen! I’d like to congratulate the team for all the hard work they’ve done for the project, and can soon take their holiday breaks after the release has been made
The time ahead is exciting, and can’t wait for the public meeting to occur at the end of July to sit back, relax, and enjoy a drink with the team and community members ![]()
